G'Day and Welcome.
The 'Friends of the Street' Group and this website is here to bring awareness about homeless and needy issues in our communities and to do something about it, At present I believe it can be controlled if preventative measures are put into place NOW!..before it becomes a crisis that community resources will not be able to fix. 'Friends of the Street' provide a service that is desperately needed to help those that seem to be labelled the 'faceless people' Those that fall through the cracks of society and for whatever reason now try to survive on the streets. Many local groups and organisations do their utmost and are stretched to their limits in their ways of helping members of the community that are having a hard time to provide for themselves, and/or their children, And not forgetting their pets..they can suffer too.. But due to strict budgts and limited funding, there are limits to the amount of assistance that can be given. We are here for YOU when all else fails! THE NEEDY AND THE HOMELESS. We are here as an aid in helping those in desperate need, we aim to provide assistance with some emergency food supplies, clothing, some furniture, linen, cooking needs and baby requirements. And that can mean on any social level, finding their present time in life has become a battle, for life (as we now know it) can go wrong in the blink of an eye in todays society, whatever the reason or causes that made this happen has now caused hardship within the family home, especially if there are children, as they can become confused with possible negative behaviour changes, they may not understand why mum and dad are so stressed out, screaming the house down over not having enough to cover all the bills or enough left for food, down to why there is no school lunch for their child. THE ELDERLY AND THE DISABLED. The elderly and the disabled live on a tight budget,
and even if they have a roof over their heads it all has to be paid for,
sometimes the pension just doesn’t stretch enough and some of these people go
without over the days before next payment.
Whether they have an income or not, it’s hard to get back up on top when your backside is dragging on the ground….anyone needs up to $3000 to move into an empty rented premises, Then there are those that have no income or very little, due to the breakup of a marriage and feel there is no way out of their present predicament… these people need immediate help Anyone can have it all one day and lose it the next. Anyone can be Homeless WE ARE OPENING UP NEW AREAS OF SUPPORT. THE NEW AREAS ARE TO BE: BURPENGARY, KILCOY AND BEACHMERE.
