Recieved an email today from an address I know, I have not opened it as I do not give my details easily. Goes like this; hi hi =) Hello do you know what? i had been noticing something fishy fishy ;p anyway, you should take a look ------------- the "take a look" line is a link to a page that askes for your provider, your email and password. the gimmick they place is "Do you think your email is being blocked by others?" giving the suggestion that if you go into the link you will find those who have blocked your address. I think it is a scam where they may be attempting to get you personal details and other email address in your contact list. -------------------- Half a bee, philisophically, must ifso facto, half not be.

Emails like that are almost always a scam. I never open any emails like that, and simply move them to the trash and delete them. -------------------- Nan

I've had emails from banks I don't even use asking me to 'confirm my details'.
I never trust any of them. I don't even open emails unless I know who it's from. |

Received a snail mail letter the other day of the classic Nigerian email scam. There are those out there who will go to extreme lengths to rip you off...
On the dodgy email front, straight to the spam folder and deleted (if they do not make that journey on their own)... |

I have received 2 emails, purporting to come from UPS, under the names of UPS PostBox-Managers Mickey Beltrandi and Katrine Sparks.
Apparently a parcel has not been delivered, because of wrong address. I am invited to open an attached form and supply my details; I think this is suss! Anybody advise if UPS do this? Anyway, we can't think of any orders from USA |

Yesterday I got an email, supposedly from a friend, saying she was stranded in the UK, her money and credit cards had been stolen, and she was desperate for funds.
Last time I spoke to her she was about to have surgery, I knew she wasn't travelling in the UK. I networked with a group of her friends - the email had spelling and grammar errors, it didn't even spell her name correctly.... totally a fake, and a scam. They should be able to track these things, and jump on these people. We need an Interpol just for the internet, or something. |

I use to get those money scam emails, offering $52 million if I help them get the funds transfered from Ethiopia to my account in Australia, so I played along for a few days,
(Me) "Are there any charges/fees/tax?" (Them) "No" they say, (Me) "What do I have to do?" (Them) "Nothing, just supply your bank details and we will get it authorised" (Me) "Why my bank details, why can't you send a cheque in registered post?" (Them) It may get lost, it must be by bank transfer" (Me) But the post will be far cheaper, a couple of dollars" (Them) The only other way we can do it is by courier, $900 AUS. (Me) Your trying to scam money out of me arn't you? (Them) YOU WATCH YOUR TONGUE BOY OR WE COME AND CUT IT OUT. -------------------- Half a bee, philisophically, must ifso facto, half not be.
